Indian hockey team...are you listening?

I was just thinking about our hockey players collecting money, more like a charity rather than an investment. I am worried if this shall be their annual activity or they plan to look forward yet again to some indolent government body for saving them from this pain in … of bill clearance? In any case, I feel sorry for them and so here I am with some free advice.

If players really want to change their lives forever, it is important how they use this newly collected fund. The right way to bring an end to their life long crisis should be that they use this money to market the sport, start talking about themselves and their sport more than cribbing about their beggarly state.

All that we hear from them is about the way hockey team has been dragged down to rags in India(which anyway only further damages their reputation). Ohh spare us …for we, the people of India, are least interested to listen to new problems when we already have plenty other existing harsher realities to face. Thus, the best way to get rid of their problems is to rather talk about their achievements and share with us some sportive excitement.

Besides this, the bigger fact is they are playing hockey because they are good at it. When they joined the Indian hockey team, they knew they were never going to be as rich as our cricketers. But still they chose to join the hockey team and not cricket. So, the best thing is to talk about their real talent, which I think, is hockey. To make people feel that fever, they shall have to glorify hockey by turning their talent into their passion and then marketing it properly. Consider this as well to be a part of their job.

They must realize that they are alone in this fight, accept it and then move on. Once players take things into their hands with full conviction, surely, things will change.
