Dear Chemical Engineering,

It’s hard to explain the feeling. Today is probably the last day with chemical engineering in my life. I can’t believe that I am feeling really sad about it. The diagrams, PIDs, the process controllers, the flow transmitters, the reformers, the distillation columns, and so many such characters shall always be in my memories. I am glad that I at least worked in their aura for more years than most of the people of my batch.

The problem is that we cannot just remain in this kind of job for entire life. With so much of ambition and a little bit of love for India it is difficult to stay afloat. I also had to tell this to one of my ex- profs from IIT K that I was soon to leave this field. He had a good reaction unfortunately.
I can’t imagine what could have I done to grow quickly and still remain associated with stuff.
