ISB and Hyderabad: first week
So finally, the journey begins. We have been around the campus. We’ve seen buildings besides people, lot of people, lots of excellent people.
When I came to Hyderabad, I went to the planetarium. They take one through the scale up from our existence level to that of the multiverse - if one looks at it closely, one realizes how much self obsessed we are (this idea was brought up in one stupid film I once saw called ‘watchman’, I guess this was the only good thing in that movie). We fail to realise that no matter how much we shit around here, it would make absolutely no difference to the big thing. I mean the multiverse kind of scale is so much beyond our imagination. For some time, I kept pondering about it and before I went crazy, I deviated from it and thought of the poor souls who work on that stuff all their lives. It is really a science of truth realization and self depreciation.
Similar has been the feeling (about 25%) and I see how difficult the job must be for the adcom.
So here are all these smart and solid people brought together in class room. We have been enthusiastic in the ‘pass on the baton’ process so far by our last class alums. Everybody is struggling to remember names showering upon them. More than often, the profiles are the real differentiators and we forget names and yet remember their work exp.
Did a lot of team activities, attended few parties and gyan sessions. Overall, quite useful and impactful.
