mayawati and other news nibbles

There are couple of interesting things today in the newspaper. I must define interesting here. Interesting things are the ones I agree with my heart and soul. Rest of the things are outrageous or boring, sometimes even indifferent. So, these interesting things have been said by Sharmila tagore in an interview. Also this comes when I have been p***ed off by the recent forcible watching of this super nonsense serial ‘utaran’ yesterday night. It would have certainly proved fatal for one of the two if the director had come face to face with me at that point of my life.

Anyway, I wanted to mention about two points she has said in her interview.

- The roles women play on screen are largely about getting married/ obsessing about men / dancing around / vamping/ bitching. There are no professional women as depicted by movies, if they are professional, they ought to be boring and must fall in love and quit job.

- Critic’s movie ratings are hopelessly disconnected with what audience like. Their rating and box office may or may not match. Critics are more about PR and marketing these days. This is the whole reason why we are still watching 5 faces over decades in lead roles in movies. Their forts cannot be breached in bollywood. They maintain hefty clouts and lead with money. No wonder, in the population of 1.2 billion we are falling short of heroes.

Other news is about Mayawati ji. She has refused to support ‘right to education’ thing financially. I wonder if she might very well say that if center has a sheikhchilli’s dream, why don’t they go ahead and do it all by themselves. Can’t they see we have made parks in my name in Lucknow only and are still starving for resourcing to be allocated to produce pending parks in all other UP towns and cities? Do they not realize that ‘I too have a number in my mind and clearly, have not hit that yet’? Instead of supporting me in that ‘deal it’ cause, these useless guys are asking me to employ so many teachers, train them and then pay them too, all this to educate all ants and their sons in my ant populous state.

But Maya Ji, this is an opportunity for you!!! Fill all these posts with ‘the’ people you love.
