In the campus....

The feeling has not yet sunk in that i am at ISB, still discovering people, new places in campus and lecture halls locations (given my bad direction sense) and look, the midterm is already here. The speed is what makes one feel so much better.
The classes are rushing with the speed the prof assumes and for an engineer that I am, some subjects are really befuddling. Well, that is what education does to you. It changes the way one thinks.

I am doing OK in marketing and economics (at least i think so, although there are no reliable indicators yet). Stats prof is fantastic. But girls actually love eco prof, he is handsome. But marketing prof is smart. I find it a hard choice. But one thing that I like the most about the acads here is that profs keep telling you how every bit in class applies.

Another feature is the junta's addiction to self appraisal. I am amused to see how people flaunt what don't even deserve to be flaunted. I wonder if they realize it or not that the interviews are over and they gain nothing with the daily practice. I mean, i feel sick of the lies meant to keep up their value proposition (that's what marketing prof calls it).
Also, there is this class participation contest going on. The arbitest form of cp is when you are stuck with some idea and that contradicts with what prof is saying and you insist to resist publically. The idea might be tangential, parallel or in a different plane altogether wrt subject matter, but you have to have it sorted out at the expense of everyone else in class, who is waiting for the hatchet to be buried. It is interesting sometimes to see that haste on prof’s face to clear you off and finish the slides of the day.
So, I have come up with a simple formula for arbit CP caln:
arbit CP = (time devoted in asking random questions- time spent in answering )/ total class time
this can be useful in class participation contest results
Someone in last class was fighting about what fixed costs were, he claimed it was mere under utilization of resources. How? You tell me.

  1. Bang on about the CP !! In fact, there r some people who even indulge in OCP - "Out of Class PArticipation" !!!

The formula - just proves that u r an engineer !! there needs to be a formula / equation for everything !!
