Internet Marketing
So, this awesome thing has been around since a couple of years now.
Imagine young hip crowd of today sitting in cafes or on laptops accessing the most fascinating medium of reaching out to this infinite pool of information put together by brains / non brains across the humankind. Wasn't it obvious source of marketing? Yes it was, but for fmcgs it was not obvious until 2008. Well that was because they sell most of their products to ma and pa. But of course, they were also selling Bingo and kurkure, which were to be sold to younger target groups. Not only fmcgs, Vodafone has been promoting itself on facebook and rewarding people for giving weirdest ideas. Not just them, but many major companies are doing this since quite some time. Insurance, consumer electronics and any other stuff which people usually search for on internet are being advertised heavily. But the trick is: how to make a internet ad such that out of the thousand of internet ads, this is the one which catches attention of those with buying intentions.
I love internet marketing specially because of the costs factor and of course the fact that I (and almost everyone else) hates boring TV ads. There is no customization, no placement possibility there. Only way TV ad approaches is "one for all" unless you use different brand names and advertisements. But in case of internet, same brand name can be advertised differently depending on what the placement of this ad is. For example, if this ad is on news website, you design it differently than that when you put it on a social networking website. I am sure there are hundred other advantages, but I have to do this assignment and cannot explore this "outside assignment" topic more.
I love this initial stage of my degree, when we all are slogging like dogs and cursing this ruthless world.
