Today's newspaper

Couple of interesting things.
The headline mentions cancellation of licence of Uninor on its failure to roll out in allotted circles. The bottom half of the same page of newspaper is Uninor's ad, which say 'longterm commitment' of company for people..gee, probably they didn't realize this was coming today, right on top of their head.

Another news is that Harley Dividson is opening a assembly plant in Gurgaon. They are obviously hit hard by 60% duty on completely built units and they can't have it hovering when they sell in Indian market. So, what do they do, start assembling in India which will reduce this to 10%. To add more to the flavor,  Ducati, BMW, Honda, Yamaha are foraying into the market at the same time. I am not sure what exactly triggered this drama precisely in the same year as India's riches have been on the list for quite a few years now and everyone could see India was fast growing market.

Last one I want to mention is this ad...its funny how they mention pathetic roads when they want to sell Audi6 (it says, the road may not be perfect, BUT ... ). I remember when I was working in Gurgaon, I used have fun watching these BMW/Audi guys, because the road was narrow and had too many speed breakers (DLF ph II). So, they would struggle getting past my cutie pie Alto, as I didn't care about the speed breakers as much as they did (they virtually halted on them). I loved overtaking them teasingly (oh, those were lovely days...sigh). Anyway, the biggest hurdle for these cars and bikes shall remain the roads.
But I am also wondering that for bikes, security can also be a serious issue. I mean how can you protect your bike in cluttered bike parkings that we have currently. If you remember,  we have really smart thieves  here and the chief ministers also tell us that one should not be adventurous.
I hope, company has taken a look at providing enough safeguards.
