Its Our Policy Please.
Did you note the full stop in my heading? If no, please do. It signifies the power of "policy". This is one important thing which can be used to justify mass exploitation, economy slowdowns, world wars and creation of ass kissing opportunities for undeserving people in power. Nazi policy was to destroy Jews, RBI policy is to exploit poor loaned people, and it is the policy which makes us slaves of HR and CEOs. Clearly, policy is that thing which is required to create barriers used by those in power against those who are not.
One important feature is that Policy is a "dynamic" guidance principle, contrary to how people generally perceive it. One who is smart uses, or at least acknowledges, this fundamental.
Every time the power shifts disadvantageously by 5degrees left or right, this feature should be used to shift the goal post to favor the incumbent. Note that policy documents contain description of the goal post as well. If you wish to check, consider bank policy, cab service policy, RBI policy, censor policy, water sharing policy between states, telecom policy, and of course, your own beloved office's policy (allowances, travel, employment etc.).
Bureaucrats, politicians, central banks, Kings XXX and Queen XYZ, successful CEOs, have used the same tool extraordinarily to keep opponents at bay for centuries. Who are these people? They are controllers of a policy.
Unfortunately, MBAs are not taught how to use this weapon officially, however, observation, learning and deployment is the key to success my friends.
