Bhakt gan: Kripya dhyaan na dein!

A lot has been going on recently. The 'bhakts' vs. 'everyone else' has started yet again...many new concepts are emerging. Hindu nationalist is interesting one. So the section qualifying as true patriot is becoming smaller and smaller.

Some politicians in power have this knack of letting the police machinery loose when views endorsed by them are being fought on the road. So suppose some sena is out on road saying that xyz is not Indian culture/ this is anti nationalist - they break a few bones, beat up ppl they don't like or are their political rivals. But since police knows that the view is endorsed by govt. they don't act. This happened in case of other past governments as well. So let us put this aside and think about other big issues being raised by the God himself.

Consider this, I and many others voted for this govt because we thought that they will correct the policies, set the economics right, will take up imp issues finally!! 

But what do we get... 

1. Swachh India...Modi ji found this as first and foremost issue for which additional taxes shd be levied. So, primary education, complete vacuum of basic healthcare infra in villages, lack of sufficient medical institutes, lack of skill development institutes, lack of efficient railways and power - nothing else is eligible of higher priority. Bhai log pad lenge toh khud hi toilets bana lenge. 

2. Revival of RSS as one nationally key organization...they should know what is going on in all the educational institutes of the country and they should be involved in it. RSS and ABVP has direct access to ministers , MLAs for propagating their agenda- these organizations stand out in terms of desh bhakti. These bodies are specially interested in all the colleges of country i.e. influence them when they are young. Perhaps that will help them win future elections.

 I wonder what is all that about and can an organization really grow by forcing itself down the throat of youngsters? Views are voluntary and that is how it should remain. If marketing was the only trick then coke wouldn't be shutting its plants right now.

3. Anti Gandhiness: Somehow it has been concluded that this family was not patriotic and their policies and governments ran anti national agendas. Gandhi family must be viewed as enemy of true Indians. Is this really true? didn't we ever have high GDP growth rates or big reforms under congress' regime? it is really black and white or is it 'grey'?? If Modi ji rules for 50 years, will we really find every decision perfectly right...will that also not lie in 'grey'?

4. A culture of having marketing events for one after the other initiative...I thought policy making was more than that. There have been enough industry exhibitions happening in past in this country with or without government support.

5. Munna bhai stunts during foreign trips - It is being said that this has added dynamism in India's image. So, we were not dynamic enough earlier which is why we did not get security council permanent membership and US support when it comes to Indo Pak dispute. I dont think I agree with that logic.

6. Anti media-ness: This is a big conspiracy. If they criticise, they are paid media or they are pseudo intellectuals liberals (since they cant be real intellectuals as being anti BJP is anti national and anti intelligence). There are different logics given when some sections of media criticise govt.: "Modi ji is not taking these reporters with him on foreign trips" is the lamest one. Imagine: Ravish kumar is criticising government because he is not getting to stay in 5 star hotel for 3 days.

Social media has indeed being hogged by the 'bhakts' - you can check facebook/ twitter of any anti modi personality and you will see it has 90% comments that are completely illogical comments and abuses for that person. But if you utter the word 'intolerance' you face even worse treatment. 

I have realized that the analysis is becoming shallow. I do not say that Modi govt is not doing anything right, they are. But nothing excludes them from criticism and opposition. Respect for other views is also a right and is completely justified. For example, being patriotic doesn't compulsorily mean being a soldier who fights with his life on the line, in my opinion, working hard, voting and paying tax is also an eligible case.
