Happy new year message! Welcome 2020!

Right now there is too much activity in Delhi and people are out in streets protesting for something or the other. While riots where a common thing when i was kid, it had been less often in a last few years. People had forgotten the songs that remind us that we need to keep together. This time it is new, there are clearly two schools of thought. One that thinks this all is needed. The other school of thought is that all this is a distraction from a bull shit economy, to which the leadership has no answer. Well, cover up the social, control the media, black out internet. It will all fade away. Gradually people will come to terms with the new life. What I keep hearing is that this is all here to stay, not for one or two terms but till they die.

So what do the second school of though resolve to? Netflix, prime and hotstar etc., but before watching anything, one is use to checking out the IMDB rating. Now here is the problem with IMDB: it is the most useless nonsense biased indicator for content. Invariably, movies or series which may be light hearted, simple, inspiring, meant for kids, girlie or romantic, it has to be rated 6-7. Anything that shows most of the disgusting feelings, brutal killings, fierce action, or larger than life destruction should be rated 8+. Barely anything less loud makes it to good ratings, my contention is that who are the people to bother to vote. I think mostly easy going crowd who likes the light stuff is not bothered to vote and hence, imdb is gathering feedback from all kinds of shitty people who are super motivated to watch gangs of this that, super hero end of world drama, zombie crap, mutant bs, vampire etc and the likes.

So my suggestion, chuck this process of choosing, and for once choose the low rated ones if you are with your beloved or kids. It is not a great idea to watch GOT squeeze the head episodes in the your best of the moods.

Thank god that there are still sweet people in world. For a change, enjoy a few laughs on the lower level mortals content and make your 2020 special.
